REFINING
REACTOR
IN ACTIVE REFINERY Burkhalter's Self-Erecting Tower (BSET) hybrid gantry proved
its usefulness within an active refinery when it safely lifted
&
set on anchor bolts a 945,893 pound reactor. Burkhalter provided all rigging, cargo transfers, and transport from ships gear in Japan to ship's gear in Houston, transfer to rail, and
a gantry lift and set onto Goldhofers. A double-wide Goldhofer transported the large and heavy vessel to a staging area for a dress-out.
The vessel was then lifted and moved into position for the BSET Lift & Set with a 10-line Goldhofer THP in a double-wide configuration supporting the front portion of the vessel. A 10-line Goldhofer PST also in a double-wide configuration supported the vessel's rear.
BURKHALTER RIGGING NAVIGATES MEMPHIS WITH 150'
AUTOCLAVE VESSEL ON STEERABLE 13-AXLE TRAILER Soon after rush hour, Burkhalter transported a 150 ft. autoclave on a steerable 13-axle trailer around Interstate 240 on the outskirts of Memphis, Tennessee. Onlookers asked "what it was" while Burkhalter crews carefully backed the cargo up on-ramps and around tight tree-lined streets to bypass low underpasses and other obstacles.
